Great food. Service was also very good! Been there alot and foods always been great.
New owners seem to be doing alright wish they kept the broasted chicken though I miss it
Food and service dramatically different AND much better now than under previous owners. The Asiago Roast Beef Panini sandwich is to die for; it is that good. While a bit off the beaten path in Shaffer, it's worth VA try, especially if you knew the previous set up.
We stopped on opening weekend. We had heard that the people that are behind this new version of the restaurant are the same as Stone's Deli in Escanaba, which is fantastic. We really liked the decor updates that were done after the switch from Home Base. Our experience here today was seriously lacking. If the review was for service only it would be 1 star. The food was good, but we were severely disappointed with the service. My wife and I both commented that the servers looked like they were taking part in a stress test on Bar Recue. We were given food without utensils. After 5 minutes we were able to flag down a different server to bring us some. My wife ordered a side salad, which didn't come, but was in the bill. When we were done eating we waited about 15 minutes for our bill before we were able to get a different server's attention. It took another 10 for the bill to be corrected. Our waitress was nowhere to be found most of the hour + we were there. I really hope that this was all due to the opening week and not quite having processes in place yet. We will give it another try next time we are in the area as we like supporting local businesses. Hopefully the service will improve as time goes on.
The pool of grease on the artichoke dip should have warned me.the pool on the pizza that they were out of pineapple pretty much sealed the deal.workers were great that's the one star.hand tossed did soak up some but was more like thin.again,just my opinion.
